Siri and Shortcuts

The following shortcuts are examples of how to use PetDNS with Siri and the Shortcuts app. These shortcuts are designed to be quickly added to your library and ready for use immediately. Tap any title below to add the shortcut directly to your library.

Deny/Allow Domain from Browser

A shortcut that appears in the iOS Share Sheet in Safari that will add the domain of the currently open website to the allowlist or denylist for a selected profile.


Check NextDNS Connection

Tests your connection to NextDNS and shows what profile the device is using. Can be used inside other Shortcuts to take action based on the result.


AI Overview of Profile (iOS 26)

A shortcut that uses Apple's Private Cloud Compute to provide a natural-language overview of the profile's settings. Requires a device compatible with Apple Intelligence.


AI Recommendations for Profile (iOS 26)

A shortcut that uses Apple's Private Cloud Compute to provide a natural-language list of recommendations for your profile. Requires a device compatible with Apple Intelligence.


Update your Profile's Linked IP

A shortcut that allows you to automate changing your Profile's Linked IP address. When setting up the Shortcut, you will be prompted to enter your Profile ID and Update Token. These can be found inside the PetDNS app by navigating to the Profile tab, then scrolling down to "Setup on your Devices". The Profile ID will be at the top and the Update Token will be towards the bottom.


Bulk Domain Import - Import Domains to Deny/Allow List

This shortcut imports a list of domains from a text file (.TXT) to either the deny or allow list for a selected profile. If you do not have an easy way to create a text file, you can use the "Create Domain Import TXT File" shortcut to create one. Requires PetDNS Pro.


Create Domain Import TXT File

This shortcut helps you create a text file containing a list of domains that can be used with the "Bulk Domain Import" shortcut. To create the file, edit the shortcut and enter the domains you want to import, then run the shortcut.
